To identify the model name and serial number of your Mac, you can use several methods. Here’s how you can find this information:
Method 1: Find Mac Serial Number Using About This Mac
- Step 1: From the Apple menu , select About This Mac.
- Step 2: A window will appear with your Mac’s model name and serial number displayed.
Method 2: Find Mac Serial Number Using System Information App
- Step 1: Press and hold the Option key while choosing Apple menu > System Information.
- Step 2: In the sidebar, select Hardware.
- Step 3: Your serial number will be listed on the right. To have it read aloud, go to File > Speak Serial Number or press Command-4.
Method 3: Find Mac Serial Number Using Product or Packaging
- Step 1 - Look for the serial number on the underside of your Mac, near the regulatory markings, or check the original product packaging.
- Step 2 - To find the model name, visit checkcoverage.apple.com and enter the serial number.
Method 4: Find Mac Serial Number Using Apple Account
- Step 1: Sign in to account.apple.com.
- Step 2: Click Devices in the sidebar.
- Step 3: Find your Mac in the list and click its name to view the model name and serial number.
